
CANADA DAY 2026 (Bancroft)
Riverside Park in Bancroft is the place to be on Wednesday, July 1, for a day filled with summer fun, celebration, and community spirit.
We’re excited to once again be part of the Town of Bancroft’s Canada Day Celebration in the beautiful park along Station Street, just behind the post office, and we would love to see you there.

About The Event
The Canada Day Celebration begins with an opening ceremony and land acknowledgment. The Town of Bancroft is pulling out all the stops to celebrate Canada’s 159th birthday with live music, family-friendly activities, community booths, shopping, delicious food, and plenty of festive fun.
Think Turtle will also have our mascot, Bailey, joining in the celebration to say hello, snap a photo, and maybe even grab a high five.
Enjoy live music, the farmers’ market, face painting, local community booths, food vendors, and the fully accessible playground.
The fully accessible playground at Riverside Park, which officially opened during last year’s Canada Day celebration, remains a popular attraction for families and children.

Stop by our booth to learn more about turtle conservation in our region and how small, simple actions can make a meaningful difference for Ontario turtles. You can also browse our conservation-themed merchandise, which helps support ongoing education and turtle protection efforts.
We’ll have a great selection of merchandise available, including “Watch 4 Turtles” car magnets, signs, pin back buttons, and our popular conservation t-shirts. Every purchase helps support Think Turtle’s education and turtle recovery initiatives.
Be sure to check out our beautiful “Crafting 4 Turtles” handmade items created by talented crafters and artists from across Ontario. Every dollar raised from these handcrafted pieces helps support the Ontario Turtle Conservation Center, home of Ontario’s only turtle hospital.

The Maynooth Morning Market offers a welcoming space to explore and support local makers and small businesses. Visitors can expect a wide variety of handmade and locally produced goods, including jams, jellies, pickles, hand-sewn items, crochet and knitted apparel, household accessories, jewelry, pottery, glasswork, bath and body products, candles, original fine art, wood products, maple syrup, and more. There is something here for everyone to enjoy.

Supporting Conservation
Proceeds from Think Turtle merchandise, after costs, directly support ongoing education initiatives, community outreach, and species recovery efforts led by the Think Turtle Conservation Initiative. Each purchase helps strengthen local stewardship and contributes to real, on-the-ground conservation work here in Ontario.
Crafting 4 Turtles Items
We will also have a selection of “Crafting 4 Turtles” handmade items available, including crocheted and knitted animal stuffies, greeting cards, beaded bracelets, sewn goods, and more. These pieces are created with care and generosity, and all proceeds support the treatment and rehabilitation of injured turtles at the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre during the busy turtle season.

COPA Flight 119, the Bancroft Flying Club, will host its 38th Annual Fly-In Pancake Breakfast and BBQ Lunch. Funds raised through the breakfast and BBQ help support the airport's services. An exciting addition to this much-loved annual event is the vendor market featuring local artists, craftspeople, and small businesses.

The market will offer products from local artists, craftspeople, designers, and vendors, including art, jewelry, pottery, bath and body products, candles, wood items, maple syrup, gourmet dog treats, and more.
Please note that many of the market vendors only accept cash because they do not have debit or credit processing on site. Make sure to bring cash if you plan to shop at their booths.
Come out and enjoy a full day of activities, including airplane fly-ins, antique vehicles on display, live music, local sightseeing flights, face painting, shopping, food, and more. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy.
All are welcome to attend the famous pancake breakfast fly-in, enjoy BBQ hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausages beginning at lunch, and browse the vendor market. The Maynooth Morning Market continues to bring together fresh local produce, handmade creations, and the welcoming spirit that makes small-town markets so special.
Charity BBQ
Each Saturday, Dave and Kelley fire up the BBQ at the market and generously donate proceeds from hot dog and peameal sales to a local nonprofit or community cause. They truly are the ultimate BBQ Dream Team, with a little help from friends along the way.
Previous recipients have included the Maynooth Food Bank, the Maynooth Public School Breakfast Club, and Think Turtle Conservation Initiative last year. We were incredibly touched to learn that Think Turtle has once again been selected as the featured Charity BBQ recipient for July 18.
Dave and Kelley, thank you for thinking of the turtles and for continuing to support local turtle conservation efforts.
