WATCH 4 TURTLES SIGNS

WATCH 4 TURTLE SIGNS

WATCH 4 TURTLES SIGNS

Help raise awareness in your community!

If you are looking to purchase a 'Watch 4 Turtles' sign, they are presently available for curbside pick-up at the Think Turtle office in Bancroft, at public events we participate in, or as an in-store purchase in Coe Hill and Apsley.

WHY SIGNS ARE IMPORTANT

Turtles can be observed crossing roads at 'time' during turtle season, typically from April to October. April to mid-July is a particularly busy period for turtles, with spring hatchlings showing up, turtles emerging from hibernation, males traveling to find mates, females looking to nest, turtles foraging for food, traveling in response to a habitat disturbance or drought that causes their body of water to dry up, flooding, and sometimes reasons only turtles know.

Installing turtle awareness signs serves as important 'visual cues' that alert motorists of potential turtle activity on the road ahead that may not be readily apparent while traveling through rural communities, cottage country, the outskirts of urban communities, and on ATV trails.
